The Institute of Food Science and Technology (ICTAL) was created in 1996 and belongs to the University of León. Its aim is to promote scientific research and development in the food industry. ICTAL has a group of professionals with extensive research experience in the field of Food Science and Technology. The entire staff of the Institute is integrated in the University of León,unileon in the Departments of Food Hygiene and Technology, the Department of Molecular Biology and the Department of Business Management and Economy.
